A couple of weeks ago I bought one of the Simply Beer Kits, they’re distinguishable by the fact they are in a bag and not a can. I went for the brown ale kit and got it going this weekend. There are plenty of kits in the range to choose from:
- Pale Ale
- Brown Ale
- Expert Stout
- Ginger beer
The Simply range is made by Richies in Burton on Trent and claim that using a pouch instead of a can makes a fresher tasting beer and, of course, it saves on packaging. Each Simply kit makes 40 pints and requires 1kg of sugar.
I’ve followed the instructions on the kit and not deviated from them on this kit since this is a new range and kit I’ve never done before it will be interesting to see how it goes. I used 1 kg of brewing sugar as is recommended on the kit.
